World Bank veep arriving Tuesday

Philippe Le Houérou, the World Bank’s Vice-President for South Asia, is arriving in Kathmandu on Tuesday on a four-day visit.

During his stay in Nepal, Le Houérou will be meeting Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat as well as senior government officials including the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, the chief secretary and the finance secretary.

Le Houérou will also visit projects supported by the World Bank and hold discussions with project beneficiaries apart from meeting development partners and representatives of civil society, academia and the private sector.
