Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has said that the budget estimates for Fiscal Year 2014/15 comes with the goal of economic growth through reforms in overall economic sector including industrialization.
Proposing deliberations on the budget estimates for F/Y 2014/15 at the meeting of the Legislature-Parliament on Tuesday, Minister Mahat made it clear that the constituency development fund was intended to bring all the electoral constituencies into the mainstream of development.
As Nepal is the country that spends the highest amount in social security in South Asia with three per cent of the total GDP, special attention has been given to make sure that it is utilized.
Special stipend will be given to Dalit students to pass the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations in first division, he said.
The Finance Minister said that the provision of modern equipment and low interest loan for farmers is expected to yield good results.
The budget has been tabled with the goal of resolving the energy crisis within three years. Dr Mahat added.
Deliberation on the proposal is underway.
