The price of gold increased slightly, while that of silver dipped marginally during the week — October 8 to 10.
Gold price went up by Rs 100 per tola to Rs 51,700 in the week when compared to the price of last weekend.
Gold was being traded at Rs 51,600 per tola on September 30, before the market closed for the Dashain holidays. The price of the yellow metal went down by Rs 100 per tola on Wednesday — the first trading day of the week — to settle at Rs 51,500 per tola.
However, the gold price rose again by Rs 200 per tola to Rs 51,700, on Thursday. The price remained constant on Friday — the last trading day of the week.
Similarly, the price of silver decreased by Rs five per tola week-on-week.
Silver was being traded at Rs 745 per tola before the market closed for the festivals. It was priced at Rs 735 per tola on Wednesday.
There was a slight correction on Thursday, as the price of silver increased by Rs five to Rs 740 on Thursday. However, the dip of Rs 10 per tola on the first trading day was unable to salvage the white metal. The price remained constant at Rs 740 per tola on Friday.
