Gold and silver prices continued to tumble this week as their price went down by Rs 700 and Rs 10 per tola over the week.
The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 50,500 per tola. On Monday, its price dropped by Rs 200 per tola to settle at Rs 50,300 per tola. The price of the yellow metal continued to freefall on Tuesday as well and plunged by Rs 800 per tola to Rs 49,500.
The price of the bullion, however, increased on Wednesday by Rs 500 per tola to Rs 50,000 and remained unchanged on Thursday. Gold price again tumbled by Rs 200 per tola and settled at Rs 49,800 per tola on Friday — the last trading day of the week.
Meanwhile, the price of silver went down by Rs 10 per tola this week. The white metal was traded at Rs 685 per tola on Sunday — the first trading day of the week. Though the price of silver remained unchanged on Monday, it came down by Rs 10 per tola on Tuesday and remained stable till Friday to close the week’s trading at Rs 675 per tola.
