The Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) board on Thursday appointed Devendra Pratap Shah as its chief executive officer (CEO).
Former general manager of Agriculture Development Bank and former chairman of the Insurance Board, Shah was appointed as the NBL’s chief executive from among three candidates recommended by a selection committee.
Others vying for the top post were Kumar Lamsal, former CEO of Sanima Bank and Kist Bank, and Chhapi Raj Pant, chief risk officer at Nepal SBI Bank. NBL board member Janardan Acharya said Shah was selected through a competitive process. “We recommended the three names on alphabetical order instead of marks they obtained,” said Bimal Wagle, a member of selection panel.
