Nepse to reopen trading on May 17

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) — the country’s only secondary market — today, said that the stock market will reopen from May 17. Nepse still remains closed after the devastating earthquake of April 25. Issuing a press statement, Nepse informed investors, brokerage companies, registrar to share and Central Depository System (CDS) and Clearing Ltd about the date of market reopening.

Nepse is going to resume trading after remaining closed for three consecutive weeks since the earthquake. “Due to damages in the offices of the broker companies and CDS, we were unable to resume trading immediately after the earthquake,” read the statement issued by Nepse.
